The USE Alien Cyclops - One is Sometimes Better Than Two!

Monday, 18th October 2004

For nearly five years USEs Alien has dominated the world in the lightweight market, from the Tour de France to the MTB World Cup.  Now for the Triathlete who wants an in-line post for a more forward saddle position, there is the carbon Alien Cyclops Tri post (350mm x 27.2) and the new range of USE Carbon Aero Alien seatposts with a Tri hook.  TriSportNews will be the first to test these products and bring you the scoop early in November.

USE Cyclops single bolt clamp

So how did USE make what is already good even better? By using a larger (3mm hex key) single bolt central to the clamp design, the Alien Cyclops makes adjustment easier and faster. The new design is stronger than ever and is even 5g lighter.

That's not all, USE Alien Cyclops has a unique one-key release mechanism that means re-adjustment is simple as a turn of the hex key. Brilliant! Not only going to be fitted on every Alien post from November 2004 - it is also available as an aftermarket clamp kit so you can upgrade your existing USE Alien seatpost.

Here are some vital statistics:

Weight: Alien Cyclops clamp = 43g
Weight (on post): Alien Cyclops Carbon 270x27.2 = 140g

Saddle rail compatibility: 7mm standard or 8mm option

Price: Carbon 350mm Tri (Round Tube) £82.00
Aero Carbon Tri £115.00
