Stephen Bayliss' Pacific Team Wins South East Champs

Tuesday, 19th October 2004

Well here is the first entry into my diary.  I will be updating this page with regular updates on my results and "interesting" other things.

Along with my main aim this year of getting selected for the Elite team for the World Long Course Champs, I have been competing in a lot of cycling Road Races (for Pacific Racing), using them mainly as training but with the teams aim of winning the South East Championships.

Last weekend this aim was achieved with Team mates Steve Gower and John Ibotson coming 1st and 2nd respectively in the series and me our 3rd scorer coming  21st, we took the Team prize for the overall series.  It was a hotly contested championship with the Evans and Prestige Elite teams, our closest competitors, going for the championship.  There was often a lot of shouting and a bit of pushing and shoving with all riders competing for the large prize money put up by the sponsors.  There were often some heated moments but we're still friends with all teams at the end.  We had a team of 6 this year and we all worked extremely hard to achieve this aim and so are all rightly pleased with ourselves.

The new news is that I will be racing for www.fit-for.com next season in Road Racing, Time Trials and of course my main aim, Long Distance Triathlons.

As many of you are, I am taking a bit of a break from training at the moment.

I will have some updates on some cross country races or some eventful training sessions.

Thanks for reading
