Trek Bicycles Roll Out 2005 Elite Teams Support

In conjunction with this years launch of the World Class Development Programmes, British Triathlon Sponsor, Trek Bicycles, yesterday unveiled their British Triathlon Team range for 2005. With an expansion to support the Duathlon and Long Distance Teams, Trek will this year provide British Triathlon with approximately 80 bikes, plus sponsoring several leading individuals.
Tim Don, Liz Blatchford, and Oli Freeman will all ride the flagship OCLV Madone 5.9, named after TdF Champion Lance Armstrongs favourite French peak. At the other end of the spectrum, the aluminium 1500 and 1200s will be used for the rapidly emerging World Class Talent Identification Programmes, through which the likes of Graham Scobie and Yasmin Smith yesterday emerged as likely candidates for this years National Youth Teams.
A few of 2004's Team bikes, and sets of the super light Bontrager XXX-Lite wheels specially bought for the Olympic Games, still remain for sale, and enquiries should be directed to British Triathlons Merchandise Officer, Peter Swaine, on 01509 226 161.
Performances at yesterday's World Class Launch were today being assessed for selection to this years Easter Camps and full rosters for the National Development Team, the Junior Team, and the National Youth Team camps in France, Bath, and Cardiff are expected to be announced tomorrow.
