Stephen Bayliss Diary - February

I hope everyone's training is all on track for your goals this coming season, when there's snow outside the Tri season can seem a long way off.

Although only 86 days to go till Ironman Lanzarote, blimey that seems really close now! Well I did 112 miles on the bike and then 2hrs run with 20min of hill reps in the middle yesterday and so I feel as though I'm getting there, It felt pretty hard doing this as well because of the constant snow all day, makes for atmospheric training conditions though.
My cycling seems to be coming back really quickly as I'm not doing loads yet and I've had a good month of running, I feel as though it is still improving, I won the TCR show Runners world 10k at Sandown park a few weeks back, not a very spectacular time but hey it's always nice to win. Coming up over the next month I have the Inter-counties cross country champs then the Inter-counties Half marathon champs, the Human Race 16 mile, then my first Triathlon; the Thames Turbo series Easter Monday race - these are great races and I urge anyone wanting to do their first triathlon or elites wanting a good workout to do these, theyre great, well organised and great fun -. Could be cold at Easter though!!
After this I have 3 weeks before the London Marathon then 6 weeks to get fully prepared and in tip top condition for Ironman Lanzarote.
