Low Key Approach for Elites in Lausanne

Friday, 19th August 2005

On the eve of the European Championships, former European Champion Andrew Johns will wake in his own bed epitomising the low-key approach being taken by the small Elite Team in Lausanne, Switzerland, for Saturday's races. Johns training at home in Leysin with team mates Liz Blatchford and Tim Don may even ride the 90 min from home on race day, as the Team use the event as training preparation for the World Champs in 3 weeks time. The full Team of Johns, Don, Stuart Hayes, Blatchford, Leanda Cave, and Helen Lawrence race at 12:30 (women) and 3:00 (men) pm GMT on Saturday with the Age Group Championships on Sunday.

Full event details can be found through the ETU website.
