Stephen Bayliss - News Update

Hi Guys,

Since my last update a lot has happened, but don't worry I'll try to keep it brief!

Three weeks after Ironman UK I traveled back down to Dorset for the Half Ironman UK.  In anyone's books it was a strong field.  I finished in a very creditable 7th position, not far off the winner, only three weeks after IMUK and already in training for Ironman Florida, so I was pleased with my performance.

The day after the race I flew out to Boulder, Colorado - where I'm now based for a few months with my Girlfriend - leading up to Ironman Florida on November 5th.

Unfortunately on 27th September my good friend John Ibbotson (I know a lot of you have met or know of John) died suddenly, please see tributes to Ibbo on, among other sites, www.londoncyclesport.com . 

I traveled back for John's funeral last weekend.  It was a very emotional day but a lovely service.  While back in the UK I raced the Kingston Running Festival 16 mile race on Sunday 9th Oct, which I won in the 2nd fastest time ever on that course!  I had a black ribbon on my vest in memory of John.

I'm now back in Boulder doing my final training leading up to Ironman Florida.
