Cycling Tragedy
Tuesday, 10th January 2006

Four members of Rhyl Cycling Club in North Wales were tragically killed on Sunday 8th January on their club ride shortly after 10am whilst riding along the A547 just outside Abergele.
British Triathlon would like to offer their deepest condolences to each of their families.
Many of the various cycling websites seem to be encouraging people to wear a black armband of some kind on your Sunday rides this weekend in memory of the cyclists who died in Wales last weekend, and also maybe drawing attention to the risks that we all face on today's roads.
Please spare a thought for the families on your club rides this weekend.
British Cycling has received many messages of support from members and from friends in the cycling world. They will be opening an on-line book of condolences for anyone wishing to express their feelings following this terrible incident. If you wish to contribute, please send your messages to pressoffice@britishcycling.org.uk - British Cycling will publish the book of condolence messages tomorrow (Wednesday) evening.
