Richard Allen Confirms Major Sponsors for 2006

Richard Allen and Chris BoonRichard Allen has confirmed his major sponsors for the 2006 season and recently picked up his Cannondale bikes at the Tri UK store in Yeovil. Richard continues his long term relationship with Tri UK as his title sponsor and will be wearing Foor clothing and wetsuits and riding Cannondale bikes. Gatorade and Adidas eyewear continue to back Richard and Easton now come on board as a wheel sponsor, as well as supplying carbon accessories. Other sponsors include Saucony shoes, Carnac cycling shoes, Fi'zi:k saddles, Thorlo socks, Aquasphere goggles and several more still to be confirmed.

  

Richard will be riding the Cannondale six13 and the Ironman Slice Aero frameset with Dura-ace components. He will be training on the Easton Tempest II wheels and racing on the Easton Carbon Tempest II with the new Easton disc.  The bikes are fully loaded with Easton carbon bars, stems, seatposts and forks. Fi'zi:k Arione carbon saddles will be used along with Fizi:k their bar tape gel system. Tyre and pedal sponsors will be announced soon.

With a race schedule now confirmed, Richard will be heading off to train at altitude in Colorado, USA, in the next few weeks. Once there he will put in his high mileage Ironman training to prepare for Lanzarote Ironman in May. He may race the California Ironman 70.3 if it fits in to his training. He will return to the UK in mid-March for the Tri UK Team launch and then finish his hard training at home in April. May will see him training on the Adidas Eyewear Training Camp in Sivota, Greece, before flying out to Lanzarote. This is Richard's first full year racing at Ironman distance and will be very exciting!
