Ironman France-Nice Triathlon: Defending Champs Are Back
Thursday, 19th January 2006
Herve Faure and Mariska Kramer, the winners of the first edition of the Ironman France-Nice Triathlon, will defend their titles on June 25th. The winners of the Ironman France-Nice Triathlon have registered for the second edition of the only Ironman race on French territory, and both are determined to win. Herve Faure organises his race season 2006 around Nice and Hawaii. He is already qualified for the Ford Ironman World Championships in October.
Registration for Ironman France-Nice is open until April 30th. At this point athletes from 35 nations are registered. The most participants are from France, followed by Great Britain, Germany and the United States. Female athletes represent about 10% of the entrants, like last year. The swim and run circuits remain the same as in the first edition of the race on the Côte d'Azur. The bike course, however, will be modified for more comfort and security, still keeping the same level of difficulty.
