London Launches Hedgeweek.com Triathlon League 2006

After much anticipation, The Hedgeweek.com Triathlon League London 2006 has arrived! And with £5000 prize money up for grabs for London Clubs what are you waiting for!

The Hedgeweek.com Triathlon League consists of 9 races in the London Region held between April and October 2006; 3 Triathlons, 3 Aquathlons, and 3 Duathlons.  London Clubs enter as 'teams' in as many of the events as they wish, but their best 3 team results count.  A 'club team' consists of the first 5 athletes from each club to finish (including 1 females and 1 'vet') and each 'team member' is awarded points.  Total points from all 5 athletes are then added together to give a total points score for the team.  Clubs are then ranked in order as the race series progresses, and league rankings will appear on the London website following each event. 

The League has also been designed to assist London Clubs to put on events, whereby each event receives a £400 club event grant.  This will also hopefully encourage other local clubs to put on events in the future.

The first round 'the Dragonslayer Duathlon' kicked off this weekend at Eastway Cycle Circuit, organised by East London Triathletes (www.eastlondontriathletes.co.uk).
