Fraser Cartmell Scoops 4th Spot at Estroil in Portugal

Scot's triathlete Fraser Cartmell racing in the Portugese sun of Estroil savoured another fine performance in the ITU triathlon race. With a sensational bike ride which was the fastest of the day (59min.57sec) Fraser clinched 4th spot in the gruelling triathlon event which consisted of a 750m swim, 40km bike ride and finished with a 10km run. Speaking after the event Fraser said "I'm pleased with the performanceI know I can still improve and am looking forward to the rest of the season."

In the women's elite race Alice Hector from Scotland finished a creditable 12th and like Fraser relishes the season ahead. "Each race is different and a learning exercise and although not further up the field in this event I feel from my previous results that I can only improve."
