Whitcombe Narrowly Misses a Medal

Great Britain's sole female Elite representative at ETU European Championships, Andrea Whitcombe, finished just outside the medals finishing in fourth place today in Autun, France.

The Championship was won by Vanessa Fernandes (Portugal) from Anja Dittmer (Germany) who took silver and Nadia Cortassa (Italy) bronze. Fernandes surged away from the field early on as Whitcombe was dropped by Dittmer and Cortassa within the final kilometre.

Former British representative, Jess Harrison, now living in and competing for France finished in 12th place.
