Tucker and Raw take 4th and 5th

Helen Tucker and Vanessa Raw just missed out on the medals at the European U23 Championships in Croatia. Having led the swim, the two athletes didn't make the most of their advantage as they were joined by chasing contenders.

The hilly run was particularly hard going as Fernandes from Portugal streaked away to take gold. Helen and Vanessa battled it out in a sprint finish, much like the last time they met at Windsor. Jouve of France was 2nd, with May of Austria in 3rd. Britain's other competitor, Rosie Clarke, took a creditable 12th after a strong run.
