Bayliss to Blow-out Brazilian Cobwebs in Blenheim
Tuesday, 29th May 2007
After a successful 2nd place finish at the Florida One-O-One Triathlon and a steady 5th at this past weekend's Ironman Brazil, Stephen Bayliss is set to race this coming weekend's Blenheim Triathlon in his UK homecoming.
Bayliss has had an incredibly consistent start to his season with a podium and two top ten Ironman finishes.
On his 5th place finish at Ironman Brazil he comments;
"I had a great swim coming out in the lead with 2 others, I am very happy with how my swim has improved. I then made the mistake of trying to ride with the fast bikers, which I managed until 90km in when I really blew up. I tried to recuperate a little but lost a lot of time over the 2nd 90km. I was happy to still run 2:53 for the marathon and have a solid result; it was a good training session and will give me more strength for the coming races."
On the prospect of racing in Blenheim this weekend Bayliss (www.stephenbayliss.net) comments;
"A sprint distance is not the race distance that I train for, but I have always enjoyed racing this distance and am really looking forward to this race in the beautiful surroundings of Blenheim castle. It will be fun to race a short race after racing Ironman Brazil this last Sunday".
