Blatchford Finishes Fifth in Madrid

Liz Blatchford finished in fifth place at today's ITU World Cup race in Madrid, Spain. The race was won by Portugal's Vannessa Fernandes in 2:06:18.6 with Blatchford completing the course in 2:10:03.5. Andrea Whitcombe exited the swim in 15th place but failed to complete the bike section. Jess Harrison who announced last week in the French media that she has applied for French citizenship and intends in the future to compete for France finished in 12th place in 2:11:34.5.
