Double Don Wins in Madrid

Tim Don scored his second World Cup win of the season when he won the ITU World Cup today in Madrid, Spain. Don held off a strong late challenge from Volodymyr Polikarpenko in the closing 200m to win in 1:55:28 to the Ukrainian's 1:55:30. Stuart Hayes in his first World Cup of the season was to the front of much of the race finishing in 12th place in 1:56:13. Andrew Johns finished in 25th place (1:57:48) and Richard Allen appears to have dropped out on the run. For a full race report Source: BTA Website, 5th June 2005
