Heard 5th in Hungary World Cup

In her comeback to World Cup racing after a summer of injury, Wales Anneliese Heard has just finished 5th in the ITU Tiszaujvarous World Cup in Hungary. Forming a breakaway from the swim, with World Number 1 Annabel Luxford (AUS), reigning World Champion Shiela Taormina (USA), and Christiane Pilz (Ger), the quartet opened a sizeable gap on the bike, with Heard only caught by last weeks London victor Emma Snowsill (AUS) late in the run. Victory went to Luxford in 1:55:13 hrs, from Pilz and Taormina, with Heard 5th in 1:58:21 hrs. Scotlands Kerry Lang was 11th, to press her claims for Commonwealth Games selection.
