Fernandes Wins Again!

Vanessa Fernandes took yet another world cup win, by putting in an amazing run performance in the blazing Beijing heat. The 20 year old Portuguese star made a breakaway on the final bike lap to come off ten seconds ahead of the American trio of Sheila Taormina, Becky Lavell and Barb Lindquist. Taormina who was racing her last world cup race ever battled hard to close the gap but could not match the youngsters speed. It ended up being Fernandes with the win, Toarmina second place and Helen Tucker (GBR) with a great final run lap to claim third place.
