Ironman UK wins for Neyedli and Comerford
Tuesday, 21st August 2007
Scotland enjoyed a double victory at the 2007 Ironman UK race in Sherborne, Dorset, as Scott Neyedli and Bella Comerford swam, cycled and ran to impressive victories. New Zealand's Bryan Rhodes had led the race by 12 minutes following a 44 minute swim for the 2.4 miles and the fastest bike leg, however his lead was quickly eroded on the run as he struggled with calf muscle problems. Rhodes, the 2005 IMUK winner was reduced to a walk for the second half of the marathon as Neyedli and England's Stephen Bayliss battled it out for the win.
