      <title>Ashbourne Duathlon - British National Duathlon Championships</title>

      <description>The 7th staging of the Ashbourne Duathlon takes place on Saturday 28th April at Carsington Water, Derbyshire. The race will be hosting both the age-group &amp; elite British Championships as well as the final event of the National Duathlon Series. The race will start with a mostly off road 12K run around the perimeter of Carsington Water, which can get hilly at points followed by an undulating 40K bike course through Wirksworth and up the infamous Middleton Top. The race finishes with a flat out and back 4K Run. There will be prizes in each 5 year age-groups, first team (top 3) as well as cash prizes to the top 3 elites.</description>

      <title>Cave and Hotchkiss Top 10 in Ironman 70.3 California</title>

      <description>Britain's Leanda Cave and Jonathan Hotchkiss took top 10 finishes at the Ironman 70.3 race in Oceanside, California.  The men's race was won by the American World Cup veteran, Andy Potts, who dipped under the four hour mark by one second. Jens Koefoed held off Lewis Elliot for second with Hotchkiss finishing in ninth with a time of 4:10:35.  Kate Major won the women's event in 4:26:15, some five minutes ahead of Dede Greisbauer in second. Cave finished in fifth position with Danish athlete, Lisbeth Kristensen, girlfriend of British triathlete Andrew Johns, in seventh.</description>

Amongst the 4,500 runners that tackled either the 8.2 mile or 16 mile course was Beverley Turner, cheered on by her husband James Cracknell, who completed the 8.2 mile event in 1hr28m.</description>

      <title>Top Places Escape GB Squad in Mooloolaba</title>

      <description>Great Britain's elite triathletes failed to make a top ten places in the opening round of the 2007 ITU BG World Cup series held in Mooloolaba, Australia.  The race, which attracted many of the World's leading triathletes, saw wins from the host nation through Emma Snowsill and Brad Kahlefeldt.  The leading British performances came from Richard Stannard who placed 17th in the men's race and Andrea Whitcombe who was 16th in the women's race. Helen Tucker was 20th, Leanda Cave 21st, and Stuart Hayes 26th. Michelle Dillon and Liz Blatchford retired.</description>

      <title>More Saipan Success for Dibens</title>

      <description>Julie Dibens won the Tagaman and the Pacific Islands Club Double award in Saipan on Saturday. The PIC Double award is given to the woman with the fastest combined XTERRA Saipan Championship and Tagaman triathlon times. The two events are held just seven days apart.  Dibens was the first competitor  male or female  out of the swim, and never looked back. Her combined time of 5:53:04 marks the first time in four years a female has come in under 6-hours in the two races. Jamie Whitmore, last years Double Champ, was 15-minutes back in 2nd place at Tagaman, and also finished in the runner-up spot for the Double.</description>

      <title>Jodie Swallow Makes Her Racing Return</title>

      <description>In a race won by Ricarda Lisk of Germany, Jodie Swallow finished in fourth at the Langebaan ITU African Cup Triathlon in South Africa, marking her return to racing.  Swallow led out of the water with Lisk, and settled in to the second bike pack as the leaders broke away. However the Brit posted the second fastest run time, clocking 39:36, to move herself up to fourth and just four seconds off the podium. Lisa Norden of Sweden was second and Juri Ide of Japan was third.</description>

      <title>Nick Saunders 5th at Ironman New Zealand</title>

      <description>Britain's Nick Saunders made his start to the year as he took fifth position behind world class opposition at Ironman New Zealand.  Cameron Brown from New Zealand took victory on home turf, and his sixth win on the course. Having moved up from third to first on the run, the New Zealander accelerated away at 38km on the run to win by less than a minute in a time of 8:26:33. Australia's Luke Bell was second with Torbj&#246;rn Sindballe of Denmark in third. Saunders finished with a time of 8:57:31, which will hopefully guarantee himself a slot for the Ironman World Championships at Kona, Hawaii.</description>
